Ana Maria Hernández

Independent curator, educator, and cultural manager based in Aruba. Her work focuses on the development of and engagement with audiences for visual arts through the exploration of tools, encounter formats, and collaborations. She is also interested in the questions around stainable infrastructure for local artists in Aruba. For her projects, Ana Maria brings together her academic background in art history with her creative thinking and strategic skills to develop inclusive and context-based exchanges.

Ana Maria Hernandez has an M.A in Art History and Contemporary Art, focusing on art from Latin America and The Caribbean. For the past three years, she has developed projects to create meaningful relationships between the Aruban community and Contemporary Art through her art foundation Plataforma Aruba. Through this project, she wants to explore new ways of engaging with visual arts and break with the idea that Contemporary Art is for a specific public.
